Shrewsbury Town have made a double loan signing. Matthew Pennington has joined from Everton and Harry Chapman from Blackburn Rovers until the end of the season.
Arsenal defender Sead Kolasinac has signed for Schalke 04 on loan for the rest of the season.
Bristol City winger Callum O’Dowda has been ruled out for 2 months with a hamstring injury.
Motherwell manager Stephen Robinson has resigned after three years in charge. Robinson said he has taken the club as far as he can.
Birmingham City’s chief executive Xuandong Ren has been fined £7,500 for using abusive language towards a match official at the end of Brum’s 3-2 defeat to Cardiff City. Ren admitted the charge.
St Johnstone were named and shamed on a list of companies that are failing to pay employees the minimum wage. They were found to owe more than £14,000 to 28 workers, 25 of them apprentice footballers. The club have now paid the wages back.
Manchester United striker Edinson Cavani has been given a 3 match ban and £10,000 fine for a social media message he sent after scoring the winner at Southampton on 29th November.
Fleetwood Town’s next two League One matches have been postponed due to positive virus tests. The games against Ipswich Town and Sunderland are the affected ones. Shrewsbury Town’s League One game with Crewe Alexandra has also been called off.
The Doc Passes Away
Tommy Docherty the former Scotland, Manchester United, Chelsea, Aston Villa and Porto manager among others, has died at the age of 92. Docherty was known for being a larger than life character who was always ready with a one-liner.
