The Ghanaian midfielder became a Gunners player after the Mikel Arteta’s side activated his £45million release clause, with Partey then agreeing a four-year contract understood to be worth around £200,000-a-week with an option to be extended for a further season.
But although it might be a while until Arsenal fans will get to see Partey in action for the club, with the international break coming up, fans can now at least add the midfielder into the Fantasy Premier League team, with the FPL confirming his price on Tuesday.
And, he’s not as expensive as you might think.
Thomas Partey’s FPL price for 2020/21 revealed
In a tweet from the Fantasy Premier League’s Twitter account, Thomas Partey’s FPL price for the 2020/21 campaign was revealed, and it’s surprisingly low.
No, you’re not seeing things, Partey is only priced at £5m. To put that into context, that’s less than players like Reiss Nelson, Anthony Knockaert, Matt Phillips, Tom Cairney, James Milner and Marc Albrighton to name but a few.
There have been suggestions that Partey is a destroyer-type player in defensive midfield, which might be why he’s priced so low, but that couldn’t be further than the truth.
Whilst Partey has strong physical attributes, his best attributes are his passing range, ability to break lines, fierce long shots and composure on the ball, with the midfielder having superb technical ability.
With this in mind, £5m could be an absolute steal for a player of Partey’s quality, who could well chip in with his fair share of goals and assists throughout the 2020/21 campaign.
FPL players have until Saturday October 17 at 11am to pick their squad and sort their transfers for Gameweek 5, will Partey be going in your team?
