When the Champions League group stage fixtures will be confirmed as Chelsea’s opponents revealed


The Champions League group stage draw for the 2020/21 season has been completed.

The draw was made today in Geneva by former Chelsea players Didier Drogba and Florent Malouda with the competition set to kick off on October 20.

Chelsea were drawn into Group E, joined by Europa League winners Sevilla as well as Krasnodar and Edouard Mendy’s former club Stade-Rennais.

But when will the fixtures be played?

Chelsea have been placed into a Wednesday group, meaning all of their matches will be on a Wednesday night.

But they won’t know which order they will play each team in their group until later this week.

That’s because the Champions League group stage fixture list will not be released by UEFA until Friday.

Though, we do know the date each game will be played.

Here are the dates for each matchday:

Matchday 1 – 20/21 October 2020

Matchday 2 – 27/28 October 2020

Matchday 3 – 3/4 November 2020

Matchday 4 -24/25 November 2020

Matchday 5 – 1/2 December 2020

Matchday 6 – 8/9 December 2020
