Paris Saint Germain make Jorginho approach as Jurgen Klopp delivers his Chelsea verdict

Here is your Chelsea morning digest for Monday, September 28.

PSG in contact with Chelsea over Jorginho loan

Paris Saint-Germain have made contact with Chelsea over the loan signing of Jorginho, according to Telefoot .

The midfielder was only on the bench for Saturday’s 3-3 draw against West Brom amid reports of interest from Arsenal.

But now PSG have entered the picture, with manager Thomas Tuchel reportedly looking to strengthen his midfield options.

Jorginho has been a regular under Frank Lampard, so it remains to be seen if the Blues will be willing to let the 28-year-old leave.

Klopp backs Chelsea to be in title race

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has suggested Chelsea could challenge his side at the top of the Premier League this season .

The champions won at Stamford Bridge last weekend and host Arsenal on Monday night looking to make it three wins from three.

Chelsea, meanwhile, only managed a 3-3 draw at West Brom on Saturday, but Klopp has claimed Frank Lampard’s team will “be there” come the end of the season.

“The Premier League and these teams with what they do is too much and too good that the season isn’t decided before it is started, so it doesn’t just work like this,” Klopp said.

“Chelsea will be there 100 per cent, United will be there, Arsenal and Tottenham will always be there.

“And there will be tough moments for us from other teams as well and it is about how you react. Can you react the right way.”

Chelsea preparing Rice bid

Chelsea are readying a £40m bid for Declan Rice, according to the Sun .

The Blues are reportedly confident of securing the signing of the West Ham midfielder before the transfer window closes on October 5.

Rice has been linked with a return to his former club throughout the summer, but Chelsea are now believed to be ready to make a move.

The Hammers’ lack of transfer activity could force them to sell their prized asset, despite their earlier insistence that the 21-year-old was not for sale.

West Ham have done next to no business this summer and co-owner David Sullivan admitted that was because of “limited funds”.
