However, the club are said to have a few irons in the fire and are hopeful of concluding several deals this summer, alongside potentially moving on a few of their current first-team squad.
Here is a round-up of the very latest Spurs transfer news and rumours.
Spurs urged not to sell Alli
Former RB Leipzig head coach and sporting director Ralf Rangnick has urged Tottenham not to sell Dele Alli this summer.
The England international has been linked with an exit from the club this summer with Paris Saint-Germain linked to the former MK Dons star.
Whilst appearing on Sky Sports’ The Football Show, Rangnick said: “I think there are clubs who would be interested in him but post-Covid, I think it’s difficult to pay a 40 or 50 million transfer fee for a player like him.
“I can only hope for him that he can convince Jose that he will still be a very important and valuable player for Spurs.
“I also think that knowing the Spurs supporters, they like to see nice football, attractive football, and I think he brings all of those assets in his portfolio as a player.
“Therefore, I can only hope that this is a momentum currently, and in the medium and long-term, he can still play for Tottenham.”
Tottenham hope on Skriniar deal
Spurs have received a boost after fresh talks with Inter over a deal for defender Milan Skriniar, report Football Insider .
It is claimed by the report that the Milanese giants are willing to back down from their original asking price of £55million to find common ground with Spurs on a transfer fee.
Tottenham are said to remain optimistic of striking a deal below £40million, as they aim to bolster their defence following the exit of Jan Vertonghen this summer.

Inter eye Sissoko deal

The Nerazzurri have their eyes on a deal to land Moussa Sissoko from Spurs, Inside Futbol report.
It is said that Inter will move for the Frenchman if they cannot persuade Chelsea to sell N’Golo Kante before the transfer window closes.
