Shabaab execute man accused of sorcery in Jilib

MOGADISHU (HOL) –  A court run by the militant group Al-Shabaab in Middle Jubba region has executed a man suspected to be a sorcerer.

Sources in Jilib town located in the Middle Jubba region which remains under the tight grip of the militant group said the man identified as Ahmed Kusane Hassan was killed by the militants for allegedly bewitching a couple.The judge reportedly ruled that witchcraft was an act of apostasy before sending the suspect to face the firing squad.

Al-Shabaab has in the past killed several people it accuses as spies and continues a mission of killings targeting civilians, government soldiers and officials.
