Football Manager 2021 is the latest game in Sports Interactive and Sega’s mega-popular series of football management simulation video games, following on from the record-breaking FM20, which which has just enjoyed a hugely successful free to own period on the Epic Games Store
FM21 will be released on November 24, 2020 on the Epic Games Store and Steam on PC and Mac, it was confirmed today. Ahead of the game’s launch, Sports Interactive has also provided a small indication of what fans can expect from FM21.
SI have said that FM21 places a renewed focus on the role of the manager, adding more tools that allow managers to develop their personalities and prowess. More game features will be revealed in early October.
As always, players can get early access to FM21 on PC and Mac around two weeks prior to the launch date, for anyone who pre-purchases from a SEGA approved digital retailer between now and launch. There is also a pre-purchase discount of 10% available to anyone who pre-purchases during this window.
It has also been confirmed that FM will return to the Xbox platform for the first time since 2007, with FM21 Xbox Edition releasing before the end of the year.
Sports Interactive have revealed that the Xbox version of FM21 is a specifically tailored version of the game, modelled on the popular Touch series,that has been fully customised for optimal performance with the Xbox controller.
FM21 Xbox will be available from the Xbox Store and is a Play Anywhere digital title that allows you to play your save game across your Xbox console and any Windows 10 PC. The game will be available on Xbox One and the forthcoming next generation of Xbox consoles, Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X, and you pay just once to play across the Xbox ecosystem.
Sports Interactive’s studio director, Miles Jacobson, said: “Football Manager 2021 is a historic release for us as a studio. We’re bringing FM to more platforms than ever before and giving more people the chance to manage their favourite club – whether that’s on their PC, from the comfort of their sofa or on their phone or tablet.”
It has also been confirmed that Football Manager Touch (on Epic, Steam, Nintendo Switch™ iOS and Android) and Football Manager Mobile (on iOS and Android) are coming soon.
