David Moyes slams official in angry post-match press conference after Arsenal loss

Twenty trips to Arsenal, never won, tonight the most agonising?

Thanks for the reminder.

Yes we should have won, or at worst got a point from it. Things didn’t go for us and we turned off at the last minute which unfortunately cost us.

Should you have had a penalty for the Gabriel handball?

Maybe. What do you think?

Considering what happened at Old Trafford with Lindelof…

Well, you see, we thought that it was [a penalty].

Good things about tonight?

A massively improved performance from last week. We made chances, we played well, we played as good as we could but ultimately, we are playing a form team, we are aware of that but I am disappointed that we have not come away with some points tonight.

We should have had three.

Switching off at the end, how disappointing was that?

Very disappointing.

Take away encouragement still? Or reflecting on that last moment slipping away?

No, I will reflect on how well the team did for the majority of the game. We came here and put in a much better performance, much nearer to the levels that we showed at the end of last season.

Which we are capable of.

I am just disappointed because we worked really hard.

Very rarely are Arsenal outplayed at home, pleased that what you worked on paid off in a way?

We are all really disappointed because we feel that our performance was good. We feel we were let down once again by decisions, very fine margins on the first goal and then the handball.

On Saturday we had one not given as well and tonight was much the same. We aren’t using it as an excuse.
