Mendy’s agent speaks out
Chelsea are on the brink of bolstering their goalkeeping options with the addition of Rennes goalkeeper Edouard Mendy.
The Blues have been desperate to add a new goalkeeper to their ranks for most of the summer, with the likes of Manchester United’s Dean Henderson and Jan Oblak of Atletico Madrid having been linked with moves to Stamford Bridge.
Now, though, Chelsea have elected to go for a cheaper option in Mendy, and a deal is on the brink of being concluded, according to the goalkeeper’s agent.
As quoted by the Metro, Djily Dieng, Mendy’s agent, said:
The two parties have come to an agreement. All that’s left is the formalisation. It could even be done tomorrow [Friday], if all goes well. Afterwards, the player himself will come to finalise everything, including having his medical examination.”
