Latest Arsenal transfer rumours: Lucas Torreira interest dropped, goalkeeper wants Gunners move

The new Premier League season is just days away with Arsenal in action at Saturday lunchtime.

The Gunners will kick off their new season against Fulham at Craven Cottage at 12.30pm on Saturday.

And their line-up will be a strengthened one from last term with the additions of Willian and Gabriel Magalhaes over the summer.

Though, Mikel Arteta and Edu are not done adding vital pieces to the Gunners squad, and with that in mind, we have rounded up all the latest rumours and gossip below.

Torreira interest dropped

According to Italian outlet Firenze Viola, Fiorentina have ended negotiations with Arsenal over Lucas Torreira after the Gunners refused to budge over their asking price.

Arsenal are reportedly demanding €30million (£26.9m) for the Uruguayan and have turned down Fiorentina’s offer of €25m (£22.4m).

Torino have also been linked, but Sampdoria were understood to be the most active in their pursuit up until now.

Torreira joined Arsenal from Fiorentina and may well have been open to a return.

Raya wants Arsenal move

Brentford goalkeeper David Raya has told the Bees he wants out amid links with Arsenal.

Raya has been tipped to replace Emiliano Martinez if the Argentine departs the Emirates Stadium this summer.

And that interest appears to have turned Raya’s head, with The Athletic saying he has his heart set on a move to Arsenal.

That could make the Gunners’ attempts to replace Martinez – should they need to – pretty easy.

Coutinho no longer an option

Barcelona are no longer willing to allow Philippe Coutinho to leave Camp Nou.

Reports claimed Barca were offering Coutinho out after Lionel Messi confirmed he will stay for another year after all.

On the back of that, Arsenal were strongly linked to make a move, likely with a loan deal in mind.

But Marca now say Barcelona have changed their mind, and impressed by Coutinho’s performances with Bayern, where he won the Champions League, they now want him to stay.
