The Gunners were underdogs as they went into the semi-final against Man City at Wembley, but they beat the odds to come out as 2-0 winners against Pep Guardiola’s men.
Mikel Arteta’s team went into the game full of confidence after an impressive 2-1 win over Premier League Champions in waiting, Liverpool in the midweek match.
And they made that confidence count when Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang gave them the lead by stabbing the ball in at the back post in the 18th minute of the match.
Arsenal had more chances to double their lead before the break, but had to be happy with the slender lead at half-time.
But there would soon be more breathing room for the Gunners in the 71st minutes when Aubameyang ran onto Kieran Tierney’s pass to get his and Arsenal’s second of the game.
That is how the match would end, with the Gunners booking their place back at Wembley on August 1.

Before the game against City, comparisons had been made between Aubameyang and Manchester United striker Anthony Martial, with United fans claiming that the French striker is better than the Arsenal man.
However, Aubameyang’s brace has given Arsenal fans the perfect opportunity to hit back at the claims.
It was a chance that they took.
The goals took Aubameyang to 25 for the season in all competitions, three more than Martial.
However, Martial has the chance to match his opponent when his side take on Chelsea in the second semi-final on Sunday evening.
It is a match that Gunners’ fans will be watching closely to find out who they will be facing in the FA Cup final in August.
