A failure to qualify for the Champions League next season could well impact the club’s summer transfer plans – particularly with finances already stretched due to the impact of the coronavirus.
It could well make for an interesting summer at Spurs.
With that in mind, here are the latest Spurs transfer rumours.
Dier demands double
Tottenham Hotspur are said to be staggered by Eric Dier’s wage demands as they negotiate a new contract.
The Daily Mail claim that Dier wants to double his £60,000-a-week wages in order to stay at Spurs.
With under a year left on his contract, the England international is said to be keen to stay at the club due to the relationship he has forged with manager Jose Mourinho.
Yet his demands, which would bring his wages in line with others in the squad, are viewed by the club as unrealistic due to the financial uncertainty caused by the coronavirus.
Barca eye up Sessegnon
Mundo Deportivo report that Barcelona are interested in bringing in Spurs left-back Ryan Sessegnon to the Nou Camp this summer.
The 20-year-old has struggled for game time at Spurs this season since last summer’s move from Fulham, having made just 12 appearances.
Yet, despite his lack of game time, Barca are said to like Sessegnon and view him as a potential back-up to Jordi Alba.
For the move to happen, though, Barca would first have to offload Junior Firpo.

Spurs and Newcastle enquire over Ikone
TF1, via Get Football News France, report that both Tottenham Hotspur and Newcstle United have made enquiries over Lille attacker Jonathan Ikone.
The 22-year-old is under contract at Lille until 2023 but could well leave should the club receive a considerable bid for his services.
Ikone came through PSG’s youth system before joining Lille in 2018 and he also has four France caps to his name.
