Borussia Dortmund issue Chelsea and Man United with deadline in Jadon Sancho transfer pursuit

Borussia Dortmund have set Chelsea, Manchester United and other clubs interested in Jadon Sancho with a strict deadline to complete a move.

The England international is heavily coveted by a number of top sides across Europe heading into the summer transfer window but Dortmund have slapped a mammoth £90m price upon his head.

20-year-old Sancho is widely regarded as one of the best young players in European football and the fight for his services is fierce – and Dortmund will not roll over easily.

However, the Bundesliga club are not prepared to enter a long-running transfer saga involving Sancho and have set a deadline of August 10 for a deal to be concluded.

Chelsea and United, along with any other interested parties, therefore only have just over a month to finalise a deal for the highly-rated former Manchester City man.

Although the transfer window is set to be extended post-Covid-19, Dortmund are heading to Switzerland for a training camp on August 10 and want any deal for Sancho done by then.

Dortmund do not want the issue of Sancho’s future to underline their preparations for the 2020/21 season and, despite the extension to the window following the coronavirus crisis, their deadline is fixed.

Sancho has excelled once again during the recently-concluded campaign for Dortmund, establishing himself as top-scorer this season with 20 goals, as well as 20 assists, from 44 games.

Although Dortmund chief Hans-Joachim Watzke recently said the club will not accept a “corona disccount” on their original £110m valuation of Sancho, that stance has softened.
