Reus and Sarri’s praise for Havertz
Signing Kai Havertz would be a statement of intent from Chelsea, there is no doubt about it.
In what has already been a busy summer, the Blues have secured deals for Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner.
Yet Frank Lampard is not done there, with Havertz and Ben Chilwell both firmly on the radar at Stamford Bridge.
If the Blues were able to make a deal for Havertz happen, it would undoubtedly give them an attack that, on paper, would be one of the most exciting in England, if not Europe.
Former Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri and Borussia Dortmund star Marco Reus have both lavished praise on Havertz’s potential in quotes that will be music to every Blues fan’s ears.
Havertz plan launched
The Blues are looking at new ways to fund a planned move for Havertz this summer.
It could lead to up to six players departing Stamford Bridge in order to raise the money needed to bring the Bayer Leverkusen attacking midfielder to the club.
Those thought to be nearing the exit door are Marcos Alonso, Emerson Palmeiri, Michy Batshuayi, Tiemou Bakayoko, Kenedy and Danny Drinkwater.
Out of those players, it is only really Alonso and Batshuayi that feature regularly for the Blues, and neither have really set the world alight this season.

Kante injury update
The Blues will have three players out for their game against Crystal Palace today.
N’Golo Kante will miss the game and faces a race against time to be fit to face Sheffield United on Saturday, whilst Fikayo Tomori and Mateo Kovacic are also absent.
Frank Lampard said: “Kante won’t be in the squad. Hurt his hamstring.
“A low-level hamstring, so we’re hoping it is a week or so.
“Kovacic trained with us today but not ready for this game. Hopefully the next.
“And Tomori is still not ready. He had a small setback in training. Hopefully next week.”
