That has shown that there is still a lot of work for Jose Mourinho to do and it could be a busy transfer window for the Portuguese boss this summer.
Plenty of rumours are already floating around ahead of the window’s opening, although the dates are still yet to be confirmed, regarding both incoming and outgoing deals.
Here, we have gathered some of the latest snippets.
Mike Maignan linked
Tottenham are eyeing a move for Lille goalkeeper Mike Maignan, who has been likened as the next Hugo Lloris, reports cited by The Sun state.
The 24-year-old is heavily tipped to succeed World Cup winner Lloris as Les Bleus first-choice stopper in the coming years and it seems a similar situation could occur in North London.
Rated at £16m, Maignan is an affordable target for Spurs to replace the ageing Lloris, who is now 33 and has two-years remaining on his deal with the club.
There could be competition in the market for his services though as Chelsea have previously been credited with an interest in his services.
Eberechi Eze interest registered
Tottenham have registered their interest in signing Eberechi Eze from Queens Park Rangers this summer, according to Give Me Sport.
The 22-year-old is expected to attract a wealth of interest when the market opens after an impressive display for the Championship outfit this term.
Eze has hit 12 goals and contributed eight assists across all competitions this season, which is said to have attracted interest from the likes of Crystal Palace, Newcastle United and West Ham.
That could spark a fierce battle in the market for the young midfielder’s services and Spurs may be in the running.

Kane tipped for exit
Former Manchester United defender Eric Djemba-Djemba has urged Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side to break to bank in order to land Harry Kane.
“I would love to see Koulibaly come in to the defence, I think he would make a really big impact on the team,” he told BettingApps.com.
“I would love to see one more striker in the [Ruud] Van Nistelrooy mould come in; someone who can score the goals, who can bring everyone into the play and someone who knows the league.
“Unfortunately I think the perfect striker for United is at Liverpool. Roberto Firmino would be the perfect striker for United, but they will never get him. If United were willing to spend so much on Martial, they should definitely go and spend £100million on Harry Kane. He would be worth it.”
