Chelsea player ratings vs West Ham
Chelsea missed the chance to leapfrog Leicester City in the Premier League table as they slumped to a 3-2 defeat at the hands of London rivals West Ham United on Wednesday night.
This was after Willian had broken the deadlock from the penalty spot and got the Blues back on level terms with a brilliant free-kick in the second half.
However, Andriy Yarmolenko eventually struck the final blow in a five-goal thriller at the London Stadium as the Hammers completed a league double over their rivals.
As expected, Willian gets a high mark for his brace, but it was a night and a performance to forget for a number of Chelsea players including goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.
But how did the rest of the team fare?

The Blues head coach faced the media following the West Ham defeat game and the main talking point from his press conference was his refusal to single anyone out for blame.
“No, not let down by the defenders. We made mistakes in the build up to the goals, not just defenders, which cost us the game.
“I wouldn’t call it a wake up call. Every game is different.
“We have six games ahead of us now and this wasn’t a huge surprise. If you play in the Premier League and make mistakes, if you boss possession but don’t do quite enough with it at the top of the pitch, then it can happen.
“That’s something we already knew.
“We have to accept it, this evening. Now it’s done and we have to move on to the six games ahead of us.”
Werner and Ziyech unveiling
Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner are now officially Chelsea players as their contracts started on July 1, 2020, and are to be unveiled.
The talented duo will not be able to help the Blues bounce back from the West Ham defeat when they host Watford at the weekend but will be able to train with their new colleagues at Cobham.
It remains to be seen when Werner and Ziyech will be unveiled, but Lampard did reveal his plans for the pair earlier in the week.
“I am in the process of arranging that plan now,” Lampard revealed in his pre-match press conference on Tuesday afternoon. “You are right, they do become our players.
“They are also in different positions in the fact that Hakim hasn’t played for a long time because the Dutch league situation and Timo finished at the weekend.
“We will formulate a plan for them that will look slightly different individually.
“We will decide in the meantime at Cobham in the training ground whether that means mixing with the squad or whether that means some physical work in the shorter term for themselves.”
The £55m transfer that is great news for Chelsea
While the Blues have been busy shelling out more than £80million on Ziyech and Werner, all the signs suggests the spending won’t stop there.
Lampard in the market for a new left-back with Leicester’s Ben Chilwell the most heavily linked and Bayer Leverkusen wonderkid Kai Havertz is another name on the transfer wish list.
He will not come cheap and without a fight as the German side looking for a fee upwards of £80million for his services, and a number of Europe’s biggest clubs are set to battle for his signature.
With that said, Chelsea appear to have been handed a boost, with Bayern Munich potentially pulling out of the race for Havertz this summer.
The Bundesliga giants have agreed a deal for a fee in the region of £44.7million initially, that could rise to around £55million with add-ons for Manchester City winger Leroy Sane.
Therefore this £55m transfer could be great news for Chelsea as Bayern’s interest in Havertz may have ended with Sane’s imminent arrival at the Allianz Arena.
